My Story

Hi there and a very warm welcome to my website! My name is Lindsey Kenton and I started fish printing in Homer, Alaska in 2017 on recycled “fishy pants.” What are fishy pants, you ask? They are work pants that friends of mine had used during a long fishing season. At a certain point they can no longer wear them and are ready to throw them out. That’s where I come in! Fish printing on these pants feels like the perfect way to reuse this material.

I grew up in Connecticut and moved to Alaska in 2012 to work seasonally. I spent time working in Denali National Park, the Alaskan Rail Tour Train, and have made Homer my summer home for the last 8 years. I have been working out of Homer as a deckhand and fish filleter, and started fish printing in 2017 for friends on old “fishy pants.” This art form has now grown into one of my biggest passions. In my free time, I love to garden, cook, and am an avid artist. Aside from being a first mate, I also earned my 100 GT Master’s Captain’s license. When I’m not on the water fishing, or on the docks fish printing and filleting, I can be found skiing in the mountains of Vermont, Colorado, and Tahoe.
